Echoes of the Iron Age

My reputation is mostly as a bladesmith. Each blade is forged in my shop here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While my influences have changed over the years, I still try very hard, whether I’m forging a knife or a piece of wrought iron jewelry, to blend traditional forging methods and aesthetics with modern equipment and metallurgy to make the most functional, durable and beautiful pieces that I can. I try to hold on to the roots of this craft that I love so much while still creating objects that can stand up to the same use and abuse as other modern objects.

That said, I will hammer out pretty much whatever someone asks for or that I want to try out. I just really like blacksmithing. I do take custom orders (feel free to email me) and I offer currently available pieces for sale here, on my website. Below, you can find some examples of my work. For a more extensive look at what I’ve made over the years and an up to date look at what I’m working on right now, follow me on Instagram!

Blades

Each blade is hand-forged out of high carbon steel. I heat treat each blade using a kiln and proper quench oils in order to maximize the strength of the knife and durability of the cutting-edge. Handle materials include a variety of hard woods and synthetics that are hand-picked to match each blade creating unique and highly functional tools.

Accessories

The hand-forged hair pins are a commonly requested item. The pins are sold on their own or with decorative steel slides. I make other hand forged jewelry, key chains, pendants, bracelets, belt buckles, troll crosses, and much more.

Home Wares

I forge other items, as well, such as bottle openers, belt buckles, candle holders, ritual tools, and hooks you'll find to outfit your homestead. I’ve been trying to expand on hand forged hollow ware lately, forging steel offering bowls, bells, and other items. I’m currently exploring where I can take that.
